FDA tested goods for import health certificate in border towns

Traders and wholesalers came to test goods to get an import health certificate from Myanmar Food and Drug Association (FDA) under the Ministry of Commerce at Muse and Myawaddy.
FDA labs opened at Myawaddy and Muse in September and are testing imported goods from borders without delay.
Traders imported edible oil, condensed milk, milk powder, beverages, seasoned powder and dye for food products.
“FDA issued import health certificate for traders to apply import license at Ministry of Commerce. We have to test food products not to damage the quality and health before distribution in the market,” Daw Myint Myint, FDA Assistant Director said.
Currently FDA has issued import health certificates for 12 food products at Myawaddy. It is also issued import health certificates for 5 food products to apply import license and 4 food products to distribute in the market.
